Fútbol Fest USA 2027 has officially announced its tournament format - and it promises to deliver the most intense and exciting 7v7 competition in the Americas.
THE GROUP STAGE
All 20 competing teams will be divided into 5 groups of 4 teams each. Every team plays all three opponents within their group in a round-robin format, earning points for wins and draws. The top two teams from each group advance automatically to the Quarterfinals.
The group stage takes place across January 7, 8, and 9, giving every team guaranteed match time and a chance to find their rhythm before the knockout pressure begins.
THE THIRD-PLACE PLAYOFF
With 10 automatic qualifiers locked in, the four best third-place finishers from the group stage face off in a single-elimination playoff for the two remaining Quarterfinal spots. Every point earned in the group stage still matters - a strong third-place finish keeps a team's championship hopes alive.
Quarterfinals → Semifinals → Championship Final - all played on January 9 and 10, culminating in the championship match on the evening of January 10.
WHY THIS FORMAT?
The 5-group format was designed to maximize competitive matches for every participating team while maintaining the high-stakes drama of knockout soccer. Every team is guaranteed at least 3 group-stage matches - and for the teams that advance, the intensity only increases from there.
The third-place playoff keeps every group-stage match meaningful all the way to the final whistle, rewarding every team that fights for points - not just the automatic qualifiers - with one last shot at the knockout stage.
PRIZE STRUCTURE
It's winner takes all: the champion claims the entire $100,000 prize pool, plus custom championship rings for the whole team. There is no cash prize for the runner-up or third-place finisher - every match from the Quarterfinals on is win it all or go home empty-handed.
