Fútbol Fest USA 2027 has officially announced its tournament format - and it promises to deliver the most intense and exciting 7v7 competition in the Americas.
THE GROUP STAGE
All 32 competing teams will be divided into 8 groups of 4 teams each. Every team plays all three opponents within their group in a round-robin format, earning points for wins and draws. The top two teams from each group advance to the knockout rounds.
The group stage takes place across January 8 and 9, giving every team guaranteed match time and a chance to find their rhythm before the knockout pressure begins.
THE SWEET SIXTEEN KNOCKOUT
The 16 teams that advance from the group stage enter a single-elimination bracket - the Sweet Sixteen. From this point forward, every match is win or go home. The bracket will be seeded based on group stage performance, rewarding dominant group-stage play with favorable matchups.
Round of 16 → Quarterfinals → Semifinals → Championship Final - all played on January 9 and 10, culminating in the championship match on the evening of January 10.
WHY THIS FORMAT?
The 8-group format was designed to maximize competitive matches for every participating team while maintaining the high-stakes drama of knockout soccer. Every team is guaranteed at least 3 group-stage matches - and for the teams that advance, the intensity only increases from there.
The Sweet Sixteen structure has been chosen to keep the crowd energy at its peak throughout the final two days, with multiple simultaneous matches creating a festival atmosphere unlike any other tournament.
PRIZE STRUCTURE
The champion of Fútbol Fest USA 2027 will receive $500,000 in prize money along with custom championship rings. Prize money distribution across knockout rounds will be announced in the coming months.
